Our community initiatives
We encourage staff to take on responsibility in the community and take part in local initiatives. We contribute by creating opportunities and giving staff paid leave for the initiatives detailed below. We regret that we are unable to respond to requests for donations to charity or local community projects because this is outside our legal remit.
Charity
We allow staff time in work for fundraising activities and support staff in this respect. Our Give as You Earn scheme allows individuals to donate to charity regularly from their gross pay.
Involvement with schools
Our Schools Intellectual Property Support (SIPS) team visits local schools promoting Intellectual Property (IP) and encouraging pupils to be creative. We also have a free educational resource for schools called THINK Kit.
We are involved with local Careers offices, and offer work experience to local school children.
We give staff who are school governors paid leave, and encourage staff to assist with reading classes in local schools.
Blood donors
We hold regular blood donor sessions allowing staff, who may not have time outside of work, to donate.
Bursary scheme
Our bursary scheme helps women change their career path by pursuing qualifications in science or engineering.
