Education
Trading standards officers involved in consumer advice work are required to complete a professional qualification, the Diploma in Consumer Affairs. To date the diploma course has not included a module on Intellectual Property (IP).
We have therefore put together an IP module for the Diploma in Consumer Affairs:
- The Trading Standards Institute (TSI)
- the Anti Counterfeiting Group (ACG)
- the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA)
- the Local Authorities Coordinating Office on Regulatory Service (LACORS IP Group)
- Unilever
- Mechanical Copyright Protection Society Limited (MCPS)
- the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT)
The TSI examining body has agreed to include it. We have produced essential learning aids and arranged special tutoring days for students.
