Training for enforcers
As part of the National Intellectual Property Crime Strategy we have developed a range of training tools for enforcers and those engaged in combating counterfeiting and piracy.
Training package
Working with the police and trading standards authorities, we have created two interactive training packages for enforcers. The compact disc (CD) helps to raise awareness of the growing problem of counterfeiting and piracy and aims to guide police and trading standards officers through the investigation and prosecution process.
The CD includes:
- video footage, and interviews with key enforcers
- advice on the law and how to work with other agencies
- best practice scenarios
- what and how to advise traders
- frequently asked questions
- internet links to representative bodies, trade organisations and trade questions
- a resources section which allows you to download examples of witness statements, interview questions and guidelines
