Annual IP Crime Report
The main aim of the IP Crime Report is to establish an accurate measurement
of IP crime within the UK - highlighting the greater focus and prioritisation that the IP
Crime Strategy
(260Kb) has brought since its launch in 2004. This is clearly
demonstrated by a significant increase in enforcement action and successful prosecutions - climbing
from 600 to over 1000 a year.
The report seeks to outline the threat posed by IP Crime by detailing the scope, scale and potential harm. A consistent message throughout is the continued importance in bringing together different parts of Government, enforcement agencies and industry stakeholders to create a coordinated approach to meet this threat.
The report contains statistical data and enforcement activity from enforcement agencies such as Trading Standards, Police and HM Revenue & Customs along with industry bodies.
The last Annual IP Crime Report 2007
(2.11Mb)
outlines the successes to date, particularly the effectiveness of legislation, the productive collaboration
between Government, enforcement agencies and industry. The Report also examines what needs to be done
to meet the challenges in the forthcoming year.
Previous editions include the Annual
Enforcement Report 2005
(715Kb) published alongside the annexes
(2.23Mb)
on the 22 June 2006 and Annual Enforcement Report 2004
(745Kb).
